UG Admission Norms

ADMISSION GUIDELINE OF UG COURSE FOR THE ACADEMIC SESSION 2018-19

1.A Candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination is eligible to seek admission to the First semester of the Six semesters B.A./B.Sc/B.Com. (General/Honours) course under Choice Based Credit Systems (CBCS). He/she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100.

2. No candidate shall be allowed for admission after a lapse of more than 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination or discontinuous of recognised regular course of study after passing the previous qualifying examination. The year of admission shall not be taken into account while calculating 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying Examination.

3. Admission will be processed under online merit based admission system for the academic year 2018-19 and all admissions will be provisional.

4. Admission to B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (General/Honours) course will be conducted on the basis of the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination recognized by affiliating Board/Council.

5. Before online form fill up candidates are advised to read carefully the instruction of admission procedure.

6. Candidates need to register themselves in the college website first for filling up the Application form.

7.During form fill up:

i) Mobile No. ii) Blood group iii) H. S. Examination registration No. and Roll No.

iv) Scanned copy of passport size photo of maximum size 100kb in total are necessary.

8. On successful form fill up you will get a system generated Application No and Security Pin (provided by the applicant) which must be needed for all future correspondence. With this Application No and Security Pin one can always login by clicking on “Existing Applicant” button and will able to browse and modify the information that entered.

9. After successful fill up one will be redirected to a page to select the subject of his/her choice. One will Select "Subjects" options according to his/her preference.

10. If your entered 10+2 records match the admission criteria of your subject selection, it will added to your list and you can continue to add more subjects.  After adding all the subjects of your choice you need to click on “Payment” bottom to make necessary payment for registration.

11. Modification is only allowed till to click on the “Payment” bottom. Once the Payment button is clicked no further modification is allowed although one can still login and view his/her information.

12. Applications with payment completion within the stipulated date will only be considered for merit list.

13. If one has already registered with the college, he/she re-enter again by clicking on green colour “Existing Applicant” button and providing the application number and security pin.

14. Admission TO BE MADE STRICTLY ON THE BASIS OF MERIT.

15. Before publication of Merit list a valid application list will be published on the college website (www.ghcollege.ac.in).

16. Merit List will be available at the college website (www.ghcollege.ac.in)

17. Any kind of false statement/claims by student or their claim qualification from fake educational boards will be treated as serious offence and will lead to cancellation of admission for the students and no money will be refunded.

18. Admission will only be confirmed after verification of the Original Testimonials in the college office. Verification will be considered finished only after the college seal is stamped on the back side of the original mark sheet.

19. ELIGIBILITY FOR APPLICATION TO 1ST YEAR B.A./B.Sc./B.COM. (GENERAL) COURSES: As per West Bengal State University norms.

20.Registration  Fee: Rs. 200 for one combination (Hons/General) and Rs. 50 thereafter for each extra combination. Payment only be made through Bill Desk.

21.Admission within the stipulated period is mandatory, failing which the candidature of the particular candidate will become liable to be cancelled.

22. For the Registration process, providing a valid mobile number is mandatory. A scanned copy of the candidate’s passport size photo (less than 100kb, JPEG/JPG format) will have to be uploaded.

i) A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination [in case of B.Mus. (Hons.) 45% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject Music, in the previous qualifying examination]

Or

ii) 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.

Or

iii) 50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other clauses are satisfied

And

iv) However, candidates belonging to Reserved Categories taking up Honours Course of Study must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate or 40% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying examination, as the case may be.

24. SCHEDULE OF DIRECT ADMISSION PROCESS :

GENERAL COURSE: Combinations including Bengali, Education, English, History, Journalism & Mass Communication, Music, Philosophy, Political Science, Sanskrit, Commerce.

HONOURS COURSE: History, Political Science, Philosophy, Sanskrit, Economics, Commerce, Tourism & Travel Management

ADMISSION SCHEDULE:

GENERAL COURSE: Combinations including Anthropology, Botany, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geography, Physical Education, Sociology, Computer Science

HONOURS COURSE: Bengali, English, Education, Journalism & Mass communication, Geography, Music, Anthropology, Botany, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics.

ADMISSION SCHEDULE:

26. Dates for verification of Mark-sheets & Certificates for students admitted in Honours and General Course will be declared in due course.
