About the Department

The Department of Education was established in the year 1971 with +2 school education programme. In the year 1987 department introduced General Degree programme in Education affiliated to University of Calcutta. The department got the affiliation the Three years Honours degree under the University of Calcutta in the year July, 2003 and started the first batch in academic session 2003-2006. With the passing of time and the gradual demand of the society as well as success rate of the students in Honours course in this subject the college authority took decision to open M.A. in Education Programme in the year 2017. Apart from this the department has been playing a pivotal role in the enhancement of students learning. The major purpose of the department is not only to expand the horizon of knowledge of the students but also to make them a complete human being.
